Preliminary Exercise 10: Camera Movement Organizer Blog Post

Introduction:  Camera movement in film refers to the physical or mechanical motion of the camera during the recording of a scene. It is a crucial aspect of filmmaking that contributes to the visual storytelling by influencing the audience's perception and emotional engagement with the narrative. It gives an idea of what to expect in a movie and how to better prepare for it when filming.

  1. Pan: The camera pivots horizontally from a fixed position, scanning the scene from left to right or vice versa.
  2. Tilt: The camera moves vertically on a fixed axis, pointing up or down.
  3. Dolly/Tracking: The camera physically moves through space, either towards or away from the subject or along a predefined path.
  4. Zoom: The lens focal length changes to magnify or diminish the size of the subject, creating an illusion of movement.
  5. the effect of those camera movement is that it can make the audience feel something on an emotional level like make them feel excited sad or loved. the goal of this assignment was to get us even deeper into practice.

Reflection: in this blog post I got the learn all the amazing techniques of camera work and how good it is to work on them. My teammate and I used PowerPoint as the app to ge this blog made which the collaborative efforts of Lavelle W., who contributed to the background elements, and Jaiden F, who served as a model for my storyboard references, played pivotal roles in the project's success. The synergy within the team allowed me to craft storyboards with a strong foundation, and despite the areas for enhancement in the creative sense, I am proud of the overall completion of the assignment. I think we mostly learned how to work as a team and now know most shots by heart.

Preliminary Exercise 9: Practicing Camerawork Day 2

Introduction: camera work is the photography produced by a camera and especially a motion-picture, video, or television camera and the reason it's important is because it allows for the audience to feel certain emotion or feeling throughout framing angles and composition.  the 4 major categories to consider when planning the camera shots: shot size, camera angles, framing, and composition. Shot size refers to the size of the frame relative to its content. Basically, the shot size defines how much of your subject or setting is shown in the individual shots. An example of shot size is an establishing shot which focuses on the entire background and scenery of the setting. Camera angle or a shot angle is dictated by where the camera is placed in relation to the character or subject. an example of a camera angle would be a shoulder level shot where the camera is getting the characters upper body in the frame. Camera framing is the placement and position of the subjects in your shots. Shots are all about composition. An example of camera framing would be an insert shot where a specific object or part of someone's body is being fully focused on. And finally, composition which is the arrangement of visual information within a camera frame. An example of composition would be asymmetrical balance. The person who's in charge of camera work in a movie is called a cinematographer. An example of a famous cinematographer would be Sharon Meir who help filmed and produce the hit movie "whiplash". The reason developing these skills would be important is because it would help us connect with the intended audience better by asking them feel what we want them to feel from our movie.

Reflection: In this blog my team and I had to work as a group to take 8 different shots. In this assignment we got to learn how to get the angle rights and to put what we learned into practice. we each took our paper to make our storyboards and when we finished drawing, we were able to take most of our pictures in the classroom. Taking the pictures were easier than it seemed because having a storyboard that good helped us finish quickly. We didn't really need to use a complicated storyline for the action lines. We accomplished our goals at the end, and everything ended up how they were suppose to and I am really proud of us for doing it that way. In this blog no tools were used besides google to research the definitions.

Preliminary Exercise 7: Storyboarding Camerawork: Shot Sizes, Camera angles, Framing and Camera Composition Post 1: Day 2

Introduction: The film industry uses storyboarding methods to try and plan out the shots in their movie. Using these storyboards movie producers have a better view of what they are going to have in their movies and whether or not what they were planning was doable. Another reason for them to use story boards is to plan out the important scenes of a movie so that they could know what angles to use for these scenes to have a significant impact on the audience. Film Production means the photographing, filming creation and production of a Commercial or Motion Picture and includes all preparation activities, set up, dismantling, removal or restoration activities in connection with the Film Production and the production that me and my teammates will be producing is a boxing parody movie, by knowing our storyboards ahead it gives us an advantage on how to be prepared for the movie. camera work.is the photography produced by a camera and especially a motion-picture, video, or television camera and the reason knowing camera work is so important for the students creating a film is because it makes it easier for the students to convey a specific message or tone to the Audience. For this exercise we will use a viridity of shot sizes and angle to understand the basis of camera work,

Reflection: The reason why making these storyboards were important is because it gives us, the directors a certain picture or idea of what our main point of our movie will be. The goal of this blog to put the idea of making a storyboard in practice so when we start filming our movie, we as a group will know what to do. The way our team went about doing this is that we each had a paper to do, and we would share our ideas to see whether or not they were doable. than we would finish our drawings, proof check them and then start getting ready to post them. for this particular assignment, not much research needed to be done except for learning some of the definitions from the link below.
