A film genre is a stylistic or thematic category for motion pictures based on similarities either in the narrative elements, aesthetic approach, or the emotional response to the film. it is important for making movies because it allows for the director to know what to put in their movies to fit the genre they were setting for. Like for example if they are going for a horror genre it helps know the music to put in there to set up the tone. It also helps promote the movie because the director will know what audience to go after. examples of genre would be action, comedy, Sci-fi and drama. In film, a subgenre is a specific style of filmmaking that falls within a broad genre category like comedy, horror, or drama. Subgenres differ stylistically. it can help when directing the movie because sub-genre helps put the movie into a specific category and it shows what direction the movie is going towards. an example of sub genre is slasher. For me my favorite genre is action movies because ever since I was young I have always, and I mean always enjoyed watching movies with my brother and his favorite were action and I loved watching it with him.
A sports film is a film genre in which any particular sport plays a prominent role in the film's plot or acts as its central theme. It is a production in which a sport or a sports-related topic is prominently featured or is a focus of the plot. My partner and I chose this because we are both huge fans of boxing and wanted to make a movie about it. we were inspired after viewing the new movie Creed III and we really wanted to recreate. This blog is important because it shows us how to understand one of our favorite film Genre.
