Research part 6: Sound

 

1. In our film's opening sequence, sound is expertly utilized to establish the comedic yet intense tone, seamlessly blending humor with the world of boxing. The sound engineer's decisions support the genre by punctuating dialogue with comedic timing, incorporating exaggerated comedic music to highlight the protagonist's awkward moments, and integrating authentic sound effects of boxing training equipment. As the scene progresses, the music transitions to an energetic tone, mirroring the protagonist's determination, while intensified dialogue and impactful sound effects enhance the excitement. Overall, these sound choices effectively set the stage for the comedic and sports-filled adventure ahead.

Dialogue	List 2 lines that connect audiences to the genre of the film and connotations of the film’s opening.  How does the dialogue define the main character? Their personality and their world.  There is only one Line in the opening and it’s “ I was 28 when I died”	Its suppose to set up the eventual death of this great boxer who died in the ring.
Sound effects	List 2 sound effects that connect audiences to the genre of the film.    There was punching and also the crowd	It was to establish the setting of a very important boxing match.
Music	List the music used in the film opening that supports the tone.    Life by Brock Hudson is used	It is used to also established the setting to show that it was made a long time ago.
